For anyone with a similar setup, I highly recommend retractable sun shades for temporary shade as needed. Some closed-in patios use solar screen fabric, which is fine, but dense 90% solar screen fabric can be vulnerable to wind damage. I prefer the combination of bug screen fabric and optional roll-up patio blinds for flexibility.
